It’s generally accepted that people can wear whatever they like, and it’s best to keep your opinions to yourself.

However, many establishments have certain rules to follow on what is and isn’t acceptable to wear.

And now, one woman’s incredibly short shorts have become the center of an online debate.

While she believes she was bullied for being ‘too hot,’ others have an entirely different theory on what happened.

Kerolay Chaves, a Brazilian influencer, recently took to Instagram to express her frustration over being asked to leave a supermarket due to her choice of clothing.

“I just got back from the supermarket and was harassed for wearing ‘clothes that were too short,’” she wrote in Portuguese, later translated to English. “Some people looked at me with judgment, others insulted me, and in the end, I was kicked out of the store.”

Chaves called the incident outrageous, saying, “Can you believe it? I think it’s absurd that women are still treated this way just because of how we choose to dress.”

She concluded her post with a bold remark: “The truth is, we go through this because we’re simply too hot.”

Despite her outcry, public opinion has largely sided with the supermarket staff, with many criticizing her outfit as inappropriate for the setting.

One critic wrote: “No need to go to a supermarket dressed like that.”

Another joked: “I guess the same way a shirtless man would get kicked out on the spot happened to you.”

On top of this, some people were not convinced by the woman’s claims.

One social media user speculated: “Clearly it was for engagement and Instagram likes. She never went to the supermarket like this. Those who follow the stories know. I’m sorry, but this can’t help you.”

A second pointed out: “She even had time to take a picture before being kicked out…”

“There’s a piece of clothing inside the cart… I don’t think she entered the market like that… maybe she has covered the bottom part and took it just to take those pictures… I guess she didn’t get kicked out of anything… even because it seems like there’s no one in the market,” claimed another detective.

“She probably chose an empty place, took the photos, posted them with this controversial phrase just to gain engagement.”

Chavez has shared snaps of the outfit that stirred up all the drama, showing a pair of denim shorts cut more like underwear.
