On Sunday morning, Rachel Zegler turned to social media in a heartfelt plea for help as her beloved dog, Lenny, battles a puzzling illness.

The 23-year-old Snow White star shared her concerns on Instagram, explaining that she was reaching out to the public for guidance after exhausting all other options.

In her Instagram Story, Zegler described Lenny’s troubling symptoms, including “severe diarrhea and a complete loss of appetite,” and admitted that nothing so far has brought him relief.

Despite two trips to the vet and providing him with chicken and rice, to soothe his digestive system, the actress explained her miniature goldendoodle has not touched his food.

‘We are now trying an appetite stimulant and an anti-diarrhetic to try to get him to eat and settle his tummy,’ she continued. ‘He has never been like this before so I am really, really I stressed.’

Apart from the lack of appetite and upset stomach, Zegler noted Lenny’s energy levels have been normal, he is playful and nobody has felt any masses in his tummy.

‘We are drinking water and otherwise seemingly good,’ she added. ‘Unfortunately this comes 48 hours before we need to fly across the ocean. Anything would help.’

Zegler went on to state that she is fed up with vets telling her to ‘wait it out whilst he is quite literally in so much discomfort and spraying all over my apartment with such urgency.’

‘I am going to pull my hair out,’ she lamented. ‘That being said I am very thankful for everyone who has helped out little Lenny thus far. It’s just so frustrating.’

In a follow-up post, two hours later, she thanked every for the their helpful messages and revealed they were going to the ER to get a ‘Gl Tract ultrasound, some bloodwork, and some intravenous medicine for nausea.’

‘The bubba is still in such high spirits. tail-wagging, alert, wanting to meet everybody, etc. still seems to have no interest in food, unfortunately, but he’s drinking water!’ she wrote.

She proceeded to reiterate that she was just ‘trying not to pull’ her ‘hair out in the midst of all of this.’

Following the trip to the ER, vets discovered Lenny has ‘colitis which is just his enflamed colon.’

‘They can’t do much for that in the present. He is a small wonderful boy being brave and getting fluids and meds via a catheter. again, thank you for loving my baby as much as I do,’ she concluded.

Zegler named her pooch after composer Leonard Bernstein, who wrote the music for the original stage production of West Side Story.

Last month, she marked her pup’s second birthday in a sweet Instagram tribute.

‘Happy 2nd birthday my sweet Lenny. Life is better with you in it,’ she captioned a sweet slideshow full of pictures of them together.

On his first birthday, she revealed to her followers that he came in a time when she ‘desperately needed love without conditions or apprehensions.’

‘You’ve given me what i consider to be the best version of being alive. I love you so much,’ she gushed, at the time.

Lenny has stuck by Zegler’s side through thick and thin, including her latest film’s humiliating box office performance.

Disney is set to post a $115million loss on the Snow White remake after it faced an online ‘review-bombing’ campaign and threats from both fans of Zegler and her co-star Gal Gadot to boycott the film over their diverging political views.

The studio spent a reported $270million on the film before marketing and distribution – but it has so far failed to break even.

Its performance has been so disastrous that the House of Mouse has even hit pause on the production of a live-action remake of 2010 Rapunzel retelling Tangled as it re-evaluates its current strategy.

Critical reviews of Snow White were mixed to start – with reviewers finding fault with the CGI dwarves and the modern updates to the plot that changed Snow White from a fawning princess-to-be into a feminist leader-in-waiting.
