Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were dressed in their finest for the Royal Family’s traditional Easter Sunday service in Windsor today.

At 36, Princess Beatrice made a fashionable statement with a striking gold-patterned headband while chatting with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, in the grounds of St George’s Chapel before the service. The mother of two, who is also stepmother to Edoardo’s son from a previous relationship, looked radiant in the elegant gold and black headpiece, which kept her iconic auburn locks neatly pinned back for the occasion.

The princess paired her striking headpiece, featuring a black bow fixed at the back for a stylish touch, with a form-fitting forest green midi dress. The dress was accentuated at the waist by a wide belt, while a row of white pearl buttons added contrast along the front and sleeves. She completed the look with green satin Mary Jane heels and a dark blue clutch bag adorned with a jeweled handle. Arriving at the Easter service, she was seen hand in hand with her husband, Edo, 41, who looked dashing in a blue linen suit and a yellow tie.

Princess Eugenie made a striking statement at today’s engagement, opting for a bold headpiece that featured an intricate design and a veil that covered much of her face, ensuring all eyes were on her at the service.

She completed her look with a chic white longline belted coat, nude suede pointed pumps, and a nude tote bag. Eugenie appeared to be in high spirits, sharing smiles and conversations with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, 38, and her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York.

Before the service, Eugenie was seen arriving at the grounds with her uncle, Prince Edward, accompanied by his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and their 17-year-old son, James, Earl of Wessex. The sisters of Prince Andrew looked radiant, posing for various photos with family members.

Princess Beatrice, known for her love of statement headpieces, also made an impression in 2019 with a distinctive look. She paired a Claire Mischevani pink floral embroidery dress with a striking copper cocktail hat by milliner Juliette Botterill, showcasing her affinity for extravagant headwear.

This year, in 2023, Princess Eugenie attended the Easter service proudly showcasing her blossoming baby bump, joined by Jack Brooksbank for the occasion at St George’s Chapel.

The princess, who is expecting her second child, son Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, wore a £159 black and blue printed midi dress from Whistles, complemented by a matching headband for the occasion.

Her father, Prince Andrew, attended the Easter service today, alongside King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other members of the royal family.

However, the Prince and Princess of Wales were absent, as they are spending the weekend with their children in Norfolk. A source shared that the couple opted to enjoy family time together before Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis return to school, according to The Mirror.

The royal family gathered for the traditional Easter Matins service at the 15th-century Windsor Chapel in Berkshire on Sunday. This service, which runs from 10:45 am to 11:45 am, has been a significant part of the royal family’s calendar for centuries.

Last year saw the King mark his return to public life following treatment for cancer at the traditional Easter service.

Last week, the Queen paid tribute to the King’s sense of duty saying he ‘loves his work’ and wants to do ‘more and more and more’ as he gets better. Camilla said Charles, 76, who is receiving ongoing treatment for cancer, was ‘driven’ by helping others and indicated his cancer journey was one of ‘recovery’.

Last month, the King experienced temporary side effects following treatment at the London Clinic, which required a short period of hospital observation that day.

Charles’s Easter Sunday appearance last year was his first major public one following his cancer diagnosis.

He was applauded by the crowds as he greeted well-wishers who urged him to ‘keep going strong’.

The news comes as King Charles has reflected on the ‘paradox of human life’ in a special message released for Easter.

His Majesty, 76, spoke of the ‘puzzles of humanity’ and the human ability to inflict both ‘great cruelty’ and ‘great kindness’ – ahead of attending the special annual Maundy Service at Durham Cathedral on Thursday.

Though he was briefly hospitalised last month due to the side effects of treatment, Charles has since returned to royal engagements.

In his message he reflected on humanity’s ‘paradoxes’ – shown both in the Easter story and also the scenes witnessed in ‘war torn countries’.

Last year, the Royal Family’s Easter service looks markedly different to previous years.

In 2023, during his first Easter Service as King, Charles led the Firm – including William, Kate and their children – on foot into the service, while in 2024 he arrived by car to shield him from infection during his treatment – as per doctor’s orders.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were not in attendance as they continued to recuperate in private after Kate shocked the world with her cancer diagnosis.

In an emotional video, just over a week before Easter, the Princess, who is now in remission, asked for privacy as she revealed she would be undergoing preventative chemotherapy. Shortly after, Kensington Palace confirmed that the Waleses would not be attending church on Easter Sunday.

Instead the couple spent their children’s Easter holidays at Amner Hall – their country home – where they were able to ‘close off from the world and move on’.
