The streaming platform is finding huge success with horror shows, such as The Haunting of Hill House which quickly became a fan favourite.
But now, people are raving over another series that isn’t for the faint-hearted.
It’s said to be a combination of creepy classics such as The Blair Witch Project, Midsommar, and Frequency.

One fan warns, “Don’t watch it at night, trust me. Stay safe, everyone.”
Another shares, “I watched it last month, and it’s been stuck with me ever since. This show will burrow under your skin until you’re questioning what’s real.”
A third commenter describes it as, “An incredible, spine-chilling psychological horror series.”
With a strong Rotten Tomatoes score of 87% and an IMDb rating of 7.3/10, the series is also receiving high praise from critics.
Bl**dy Disgusting’s Meagan Navarro writes, “The series kicks off with a powerful start and keeps you hooked with its eerie sound, otherworldly mysteries, unique structure, and cult conspiracies.”
Stephanie Malone of Morbidly Beautiful adds, “Visually stunning and cinematic, the haunting score maintains a constant feeling of unease. With echoes of classics like LOST and TWIN PEAKS, it raises compelling questions and leaves you craving answers.”

The horror series is based on a podcast of the same name, exploring rituals, stories, and sound.
Netflix adapted the popular audio show into a TV series. Upon release in 2022, it was said to have been watched for 129.47 million hours.
The show’s description reads: “An archivist takes a job restoring damaged videotapes and gets pulled into the vortex of a mystery involving the missing director and a demonic cult.”
Developed by Rebecca Sonnenshine, known for The Boys and The Vampire Diaries, the horror series stars Mamoudou Athie, Dina Shihabi, Evan Jonigkeit, Julia Chan, Ariana Neal, Matt McGorry, and Martin Donovan.b

In an interview with TheWrap, Sonnenshine shared insights about creating Archive 81, highlighting how the show differs from the podcast while maintaining its core essence. She explained, “We wanted to ensure it captured the spirit of the original while following a similar storyline. Our main focus was to develop the characters of Dan and Melody, giving them a drive and a quest that would parallel one another. That was the starting point for us.”
Despite receiving positive reviews from fans and critics, and making it into Netflix’s weekly Top 10 for original content, the show was unfortunately canceled in the same year it was released, according to Deadline.
