According to a report by The Mirror, which referenced a now-deleted comment, Hughes spoke out in defense of their friendship.
Under a photo of Hughes and JoJo Siwa playing tennis on Siwa’s Instagram, a critic reportedly commented, “Damn this is inappropriate.”
Hughes was said to have responded, “I have friends who are 50+ too, you weirdo.”

Siwa allegedly “love bombed” them, reportedly calling them the “love of [her] life.” She also claimed that the “Karma” singer had even proposed marriage before the start of Celebrity Big Brother.

When asked if her friendship with Hughes influenced her decision, Siwa responded, “Obviously we’re close, obviously we’re tight.”
Hughes elaborated, saying, “Our friendship is… it’s hard to put into words. It’s just a really strong connection between two people—a deep friendship.
“I believe you can have a soulmate-level friendship. That’s a real thing.
“To me, it has that kind of energy—it’s not your typical friendship, but it’s still very much a friendship.”

JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes, who appeared together on Celebrity Big Brother, recently opened up about their relationship during an interview on ITV’s This Morning.
Their unusually close bond sparked conversation among viewers, with some labeling it as unconventional.
