Lisa Rinna recently opened up about the challenging postpartum depression she experienced after starting a family with her husband, Harry Hamlin. The 61-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, who made a striking appearance at the 2025 Fashion Trust U.S. Awards earlier this month, shared her story on the latest episode of their podcast, Let’s Not Talk About The Husband.

Rinna and Hamlin, married since 1997, are parents to two daughters: Delilah, 26, and Amelia, 23.

During the podcast, Hamlin shared a moment when Rinna threatened to kill him as she struggled with her condition after giving birth to Amelia.

Lisa opened up about her experience with “horrible” postpartum depression following the births of both their children, admitting, “I didn’t know it.” She explained, “When you have your first baby, you just don’t know. You have no idea.”

The TV personality suffered from PPD for a total of 15 months after Delilah was born and Rinna admitted she had felt ‘absolutely hopeless.’

However, her PPD worsened when Amelia was welcomed to the world in 2001.

Harry recalled, ‘You said, “I’m gonna kill you.” And I said, “You better call [your OB-GYN] right now.” You said, “You better watch out. I feel like killing you.” You said, “Keep the knives in the drawer.”‘

While Lisa didn’t remember saying those words to her husband, the reality star expressed that at the time, ‘I was having horrible hallucinations of killing people.

‘And I needed to take the knives out of the house. And I also had horrible visions of driving the car into a brick wall.’

She further explained that any negative thoughts or feelings were never aimed at her children.

‘I did not have horrible visions about hurting the baby in any way, shape or form. It wasn’t about that,’ Rinna said on the podcast episode. ‘It was about hopelessness, darkest depression and these horrible visions, hallucinations.

‘Looking back, I was completely psychotic,’ the Melrose Place star added before revealing that once she was prescribed anti-depressants, they ‘changed the game.’

Lisa has previously opened up about her struggles with PPD during an interview with Cosmopolitan last year in early 2024.

‘I had postpartum depression and I completely lost my mojo,’ the media personality told the outlet.

‘I didn’t know I had it for the first 15 months of Delilah’s life, and then once we figured it out, I was treated for it, and I was ready for it when I had Amelia. I went on an antidepressant, which helped tremendously.’

Rinna shared, “Without that, I don’t know how long it would’ve taken. I’m typically a very positive and happy person, but I felt utterly hopeless. It’s a terrifying feeling when something like that happens, especially when it’s never occurred in your life before.”

Postpartum depression (PPD) affects around 1 in 7 people during pregnancy or within the first year after childbirth, as stated by the NIH (National Institutes of Health).

In March, Lisa and Harry celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary. To mark the occasion, the reality star took to Instagram to reflect on the milestone.

She posted black-and-white photos from their wedding day with a heartfelt caption: “28 years ago we said I Do ❤️ March 29, 1997.”

One photo captured the couple’s radiant smiles as they walked down the aisle after exchanging vows, while another showed a beautiful shot of Rinna from behind, showcasing her flowing sheer veil and long train.

Her daughter Delilah jumped to the comment section of the post and wrote, ‘Awww mom. nana looks so beautiful too.’

Rinna and Hamlin have previously opened up about their relationship and the secret to their long-lasting marriage.

‘I think it is really luck,’ Lisa told People last year on the topic of their romance. ‘I think it’s luck. I really do.

‘Because who would’ve ever thought? I mean we really love each other and respect each other, so that’s helpful.’

She added, ‘And I really like him as a human. I think he’s a really good man and I feel really lucky. But I think it’s very hard to find someone that you want to spend that much time with, right?’

The actress then admitted to the outlet, ‘I don’t think there’s any secret. I just think we got very lucky that we found each other.’

During an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com a few months earlier in February, Hamlin also discussed their marriage and how it survived the RHOBH years

Rinna notably was a main cast member on the Bravo reality series from 2014 until her exit in 2022.

And while talking to People before the pair rung in their 25th anniversary, Hamlin explained, ‘[The secret is] being diametrically opposite.

‘I like going up to the mountains, and her idea of camping is anything below the 10th floor of the Four Seasons.’

Rinna has been keeping busy and recently attended the H&M Musical Festival earlier this month in Los Angeles.

The TV personality was chic wearing a pastel pink suit and was also joined by both of her daughters for the festivities.
