The 23-year-old Mexican influencer was known for her beauty and makeup content, amassing nearly 200,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok.
She worked in a beauty salon in the city of Zapopan, where the tragic incident took place.

Earlier in the Tiktok livestream, Marquez shared that someone had come to the salon when she was not there with an ‘expensive gift’ for her.
The Guardian reports that Marquez seemed concerned and wasn’t planning to stay in the salon and wait for the person to come back.
Moments before she was shot, the influencer was livestreaming to her followers as she sat at a table unboxing a small package containing a stuffed toy.
Marquez smiled, cuddled the toy, and tossed her blonde hair over her shoulder.
She was then heard saying: “They’re coming,” before a voice in the background asked, “Hey, Vale?”
The 23-year-old replied ‘yes’ before muting the TikTok Live.
Seconds later, viewers witnessed Marquez being shot with a firearm before she slouched over in her chair.

Moments after Marquez’s death, a person appeared to pick up her phone, showing a glimpse of their face before ending the livestream.
Municipal Police officers responded to the scene at 6:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 report to emergency services, confirming the victim’s death.
Paramedics also arrived at the scene and confirmed that the woman no longer had vital signs.
According to the state of Jalisco’s Attorney General’s office, Marquez was shot dead by a male intruder in her salon.
The influencer had uploaded a final photograph of herself to social media before her tragic death.
Marquez can be seen posing in a mirror at the salon while dressed in the same pink top she would later be killed in.

The General’s office is investigating Marquez’s death as a suspected femicide—an act of killing a woman or girl based on gender-related motives.
According to Vision of Humanity, femicides have become a serious issue in Mexico, with reported cases rising sharply over the past decade. In 2015, femicides accounted for 19.8% of all female homicides, but by 2024, this figure had increased to 24.2%.
Mexican government data shows that last year there were 847 reported femicide cases nationwide, with 162 cases recorded in just the first three months of this year.
Juan José Frangie, Mayor of Zapopan, stated that his office has no records indicating that Marquez sought help from authorities regarding any threats she may have faced.
While forensic experts are currently investigating the shooting, the prosecutor’s office has yet to identify a suspect in the murder of the 23-year-old woman.
